Like RUINS before
it, the new Grouper release GRID OF POINTS focuses on the combination of Liz Harris’
piano and vocals, again given the Grouper lo-fi treatment to sound like its
coming to you from a distant room in a large, empty house. Beautiful, haunting, primal, unsettling –
this is truly metaphysical music. That
large, mysterious space between what you hear and what it means is subtly profound. The trick is in figuring out why.
