I've read a lot of shit by "critics" who claim that the first 3 Wipers albums were stone-cold punk classics, but most everything else they did was subpar filler.  What a load of shit.  These guys were awesome from beginning to end.  FOLLOW BLIND (their fifth album)  is a particular favorite.  Sage's thick, fuzzy production is very cool, gives even the fiercer rockers a soft edge.  Very cold & dreamy, slightly uneasy, dense but raw.

SILVER SAIL came six years later with a similar mellow vibe, but cleaner production.

Just as excellent as the first 3 albums, but in a different vein.

I have yet to read a music critic who isn't a self-important douche bag.
